On the next morning, Marty woke up at Emmett’s laboratory when he received a call from Emmett who asked him to bring him his static accumulator at the Expo. Suddenly, Emmett was kidnapped by someone at the fair… Marty went at the Hill Valley Expo finding what was going wrong with Young Emmett. Arriving at the parking lot of the High School, Marty was almost crushed by Citizen Brown who realized that science was the matter of all the problems in Hill Valley in 1986. Citizen Brown is sure if Young Emmett failed with his flying car’s experience, Edna Strickland would come back with him and live with him without being involved in science.
The episode opens up with Marty waking up in the Citizen Plus facility in 1986-B, awaiting brainwashing by Edna Strickland, who was discovered to be the true perpetrator of these events at the end of the previous episode. By tricking a guard, and with assistance from Marty’s father whom is communicating with Marty through the security cameras, Marty is able to retrieve his personal belongings from a cage in the waiting room. Marty discovers that Jennifer is in the next room over, having already been partially brainwashed by the Citizen Plus program.
After flying back from 1931, Marty McFly crashes into billboard depicting an alternate Doc, who is in charge of Hill Valley. After getting out of the car with the help of a alternate version of Jennifer Parker, in this timeline, a punk rock vandal who wants nothing to do with Marty, the Delorean falls out of the billboard, damaging it. By salvaging one of the DeLorean’s hoverwheels and its Mr. Fusion battery (which is only 12 volts) Marty is able to jump over the wall into a alternate Hill Valley, a seemingly utopian crime-free town.
While keeping an eye on young Doc Brown’s proverbial date with scientific destiny, Marty and 1980′s Doc must prevent gang boss Kid Tannen from wreaking havoc on Marty’s family, and erasing his girlfriend from the future. Upon escaping from Kid Tannen the night of breaking Doc out of jail, Marty begins to fade away. Doc and Marty both read the paper from the next day to find that Marty’s grandfather, Arthur McFly, was gunned down in Courthouse Square, proven by Marty’s father vanishing from a photograph of him. They decide to take the DeLorean back to 4 pm that afternoon, however, Doc is stopped by a local police officer out on the road and detained. 
The DeLorean, thought to be destroyed, reappears, and Marty travels to the year 1931 to rescue a time-stranded Doc Brown, who has been accused of burning down a speakeasy and put in jail. To break him out, Mart must work with Doc’s younger self to build a rocket drill(in the process, Marty gives a subpoena to his grandfather Arthur to arrest Biff’s father Kid Tannen for his wrong doings). Doc is suddenly moved to another jail, so Marty races after him on a rocket powered bicycle and frees him, but as they prepare to go back to 1986, Marty’s hand suddenly begins to disappear
